Privacy policy

This policy covers www.emr32.co.uk, the mailing list for The Climb, Eva’s journal, and messages you send to the team. Eva 32 Racer is run by Eva’s family, who decide how the personal data described here is used. You can reach us about anything in this policy at team@emr32.co.uk.

Browsing the site

The site has no analytics, no advertising and sets no cookies of its own. Fonts and images are served from this domain. The only third-party content is the Instagram posts described below.

Like every website, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, receives technical information when your browser requests a page: your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser’s user agent. It is used only to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose faults, and is kept in short-lived logs.

Subscribing to The Climb

When you subscribe we store your email address, the date you subscribed and whether you are still subscribed. We use it only to email you when a new entry in The Climb is published. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email, or by emailing us.

The mailing list is held by our email provider, Resend, which sends the emails on our behalf. We keep your address for as long as you stay subscribed. When you unsubscribe we keep a record of the address and that you unsubscribed, so that you are not emailed again.

The mailing list is for people aged 13 and over.

Contacting us

If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and whatever you choose to include. Contact form messages are emailed to the family by our email provider, Resend, and sent to BusinessOS, the system the family runs Eva’s racing on, where they are saved as an enquiry. We use it to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or, for partnership discussions, taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement. We keep enquiry emails for as long as the conversation is active and then for up to two years, unless they become part of a partnership, in which case we keep them for as long as the law requires.

Instagram posts and social links

The home and media pages can show a few of Eva’s Instagram posts using Instagram’s own embeds. They only load if you allow Instagram posts in the cookie choices, and then only when you scroll to them. When they do, Instagram (Meta) receives your IP address and browser details and may set cookies, underInstagram’s privacy policy. The rest of the site does not contact Instagram.

Cookies and your choices

The site sets no cookies of its own. It stores your cookie choice in your browser so it doesn’t ask again; that is essential and always on. Instagram’s cookies are optional and off until you allow them. You can change your mind at any time with , also linked at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal.

Links to Eva’s Instagram and Facebook pages take you to those services, which handle your data under their own policies.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. Our hosting and email providers, and BusinessOS, process data on our behalf under contract. Some may process it outside the UK; where they do, they rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or move it to someone else. Email team@emr32.co.ukand we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office atico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
